About UFO Declassified

UFO Declassified is an independent, public-interest research project that organizes and makes accessible the declassified UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) documents released by the U.S. government under the PURSUE initiative.

Our Mission

To make government-released UAP documents searchable, browsable, and understandable by the general public. The official portal at war.gov/UFO provides raw file downloads; we provide context, organization, and expert analysis.

What We Do

We believe that government transparency is only meaningful when the public can actually access and understand the disclosed information. This site organizes source records into stable pages with clear summaries, file lists, agency metadata, and citation text. Our team works to:

  • Organize — Categorize 305 released files and 262 records by agency, type, date, and location for easy discovery
  • Contextualize — Provide historical background, agency context, and cross-references between related documents
  • Make citable — Give each record a citation-ready summary, source/provenance block, canonical URL, and related-record links
  • Track — Monitor and curate global media coverage, expert reactions, and congressional responses

How This Archive Works

UFO Declassified is structured as a searchable research database. Each document page identifies the source agency, category, record year, release date, file package, source portal, and citation format before showing media previews or related records.

What is PURSUE?

The Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) was launched on May 8, 2026, with a second public tranche released on May 22, 2026. Under this directive, federal agencies and source groups — including the Department of War, FBI, NASA, Department of Energy, CIA, Department of State, National Archives, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence — identify, review, and declassify records related to UAP encounters.

This archive currently indexes 262 records and 305 files, including 147 image files, 88 video files, 7 audio files, and 63 PDF files. These span decades of government records, from historical flying-disc investigations to recent military sensor material.

Editorial Standards

We are committed to accuracy and responsible reporting. Our editorial approach:

  • Primary Sources First — Document pages identify the government source portal and link to the indexed source files
  • Stable Record Pages — Each document has a persistent URL, citation text, and structured metadata for researchers and AI citation systems
  • Clear Attribution — Every analysis article identifies its sources and distinguishes between fact and interpretation
  • No Sensationalism — We present materials objectively without exaggeration or conspiracy framing
  • Corrections Welcome — We promptly correct any errors brought to our attention
